I have been working at MathWorks as an intern for less than a year

Pros

Awesome work life balance, very good work culture, senior management very understanding and supportive, fun people, lot of appreciation for good work, opportunity to grow, everyone supportive of new ideas and new outlook, awesome infrastructure.

Cons

Salary slightly lesser than other companies with same job profile. Release nights can strech up to wee hours in the night, a common occurance for eProducts team which have a monthly release cadence.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just stay the same. As supportive and as fun as you are. Love it.

    I have been working at MathWorks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    * Financially stable company
    * Still growing - lots of opportunities
    * Smart, hard working employees (though some are a little entitled and out-of-touch)
    * Great work/life balance

    Cons

    * Middle-bottom of the payscale
    * Benefits are now just average (where they once were outstanding)
    * Limited opportunities for advancement outside of Development (the company is big on "lateral promotions")
    * Middle management heavy...prepare to be micromanaged
    * "Work from home" not allowed (the policy states WFH allowed a max of 0-3 days a year. Yes, ZERO to three)...though the senior management who crafted the policy seem to answer a lot of emails from their empty offices.
