Fast to reply really interesting place to work

Low pay so not attractive to many but its a stepping stone

    I have been working at MathWorks (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Core values are real, all the way to the top.
    Work hard and you are rewarded through bonuses and advancement opportunities.
    Most managers are interested in growing their direct reports.
    Bonus program is consistent.
    Product is popular and relevant.
    Work/life balance is very important.

    Cons

    Salaries are on the low end compared to their competition.
    Decision making process can be a bit slow when everyone thinks they are negotiators.
    Work from home policy.

    smart co-workers
    healthy business
    focus on improved quality will pay dividends.
    product helps the world

    Cons

    lengthy and onerous yearly review process did not match stated core values
    no "work from home"
    technology is falling behind due to mountain of legacy 'spaghetti code'
    personnel changes can seem puzzling, at best. Sometimes capricious; sometimes punitive.

    ruling by fear doesn't lead to team loyalty
