I worked at Matrix Design Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Interesting projects. If you can stick it out for a year, you can build a decent project list for your resume. (This is the only benefit.)

    Cons

Beyond LONG Hours. Directors do not direct. Directors do not plan/manage/lead projects. Directors are only for marketing. (So who manages the project then?) Poor communication throughout company. Processes are not in place. HIGH turn-over. If you go on vacation, be prepared to work on vacation and be available on your cell phone. Average to below average pay despite CEO claiming wanting to attract the "best and the brightest". No work/life balance ("The Matrix" IS your family.) Insurance is subpar.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to shed some poor performing Directors -- the root of your problem but you all took the blue pill. Time to take the red pill and look at reality. Look at your operations and how you plan projects and resources. Really need to get directors who took business/project management courses and who can listen, comprehend, strategize, present a solution and communicate.

High turn over for a reason.

I worked at Matrix Design Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good experience to help me move on with my career.

    Cons

Horrible hours, high turn over, terrible compensation. Not all offices had same workplace policies and standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a reason you burn through employees. Treat employees with dignity and respect and compensate them for the hours they put in. There is zero work life balance. The CEO is out of touch with the culture of all the offices in the company.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
