Pros
Maxim compensates a little above average for some higher level positions.
Significantly above average talent in some areas of company.
If in the "right place at right time", potential for upward mobility is high.
Cons
Unreasonable demands with absolutely no benefit to meeting them.
Schitzophrenic management, poor direction given (changes all the time, hard to know what is expected of you).
Incompetent upper management in charge of one division. Uninterested upper management in charge of second division. Strong upper management in charge of third division, who has been made ineffective.
Compensation for lower levels is at best equal to market. For many people, it is below market. Rare to have above market compensation among low to mid level employees.
Political culture in some areas of company - this is new since new CEO took over.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on what matters: growing revenue and keeping costs low - you have lost your way.
Try to understand issues before setting direction or making decisions.
Think carefully about decisions and consequences before making them. For example, do not decrease gross margin for potential intangible benefits that will never materialize.
