Pros

You can make the technical decision. Flexible time.

Cons

Micromanagement to the extrem! Your manager has zero authurity on your compensation. Strong buddy-buddy system. No technical career ladder.

Advice to Senior Management

Need technical ladders for those who has no interest to do management work.
