I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Working with the newest technology you'll be pushing the envelope with one of the most innovative analog, mixed signal and RF companies in the industry. Excellent pay, good benefits, flexible hours, lots of autonomy and self direction. Rewards for those who can deliver quality products on time.

Cons

You'll be held to the schedule that you determine, so don't underestimate the amount of work it will take to get the job done and if you do expect to put in as much time as it takes to achieve your commitment. You are expected to know every aspect of the job, you won't get a lot of help on things you should know but don't. Management sometimes acts Spock-like, impervious to emotion.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is generic for every high tech company: Don't underestimate the negative effects of your decisions on people's lives. Coercion can backfire and reduce productivity. This is easily fixed with layoffs but given what it takes to get good talent you shouldn't intentionally drive the motivation out of the staff.

    Pros

Good benefits package: healthcare, dental, vision and 401k. Challenging, having to stretch yourself, and always being tested to your creative limits. Never gets boring.

    Cons

Noisy work environment. Very long work hours. Be ready and prepared to work long hours and harder than you would elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There are a lot of limitations in terms of resources. It all depends on how you work with them. People who take it up as a challenge and learn to work around tight resources, will excel. Its a great place to start. Lot of visibility and tons of excellent engineers that are more than willing to educate you if you show interest. No dearth of opportunities. Great place to learn and grow.

    Cons

The work environment is very serious. Not much scope for employee bonding or team building activity. Its a tough place for a New graduate to warm up to since most of the folks are in mid 40s. The office atmosphere is not bright. Its rather dull to work in. Extremely hectic schedules and sometimes work pressure can get to you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management seems to be moving in the right direction with branding and internal changes in management style and new talent acquisition. I think they are moving in the right direction. Just need to do a bit more to improve overall employee satisfaction.
