Pros

For semiconductor chips, the products are reasonably interesting. At least they aren't boring memory chips.

Cons

From the grunt level, there seems to be a lot of random HR, procurement, recruiting systems etc. that are a cobbled mess. No stock options for grunts. The compay seems to be run mostly by former design engineers...thus there seems to be less emphasis on product and test engineering than other companies I have worked for in the past. Net result is great parts that can't be delivered in a timely manner.

Advice to Management

More product and test engineering emphasis.

    Pros

Working with the newest technology you'll be pushing the envelope with one of the most innovative analog, mixed signal and RF companies in the industry. Excellent pay, good benefits, flexible hours, lots of autonomy and self direction. Rewards for those who can deliver quality products on time.

    Cons

You'll be held to the schedule that you determine, so don't underestimate the amount of work it will take to get the job done and if you do expect to put in as much time as it takes to achieve your commitment. You are expected to know every aspect of the job, you won't get a lot of help on things you should know but don't. Management sometimes acts Spock-like, impervious to emotion.

    Advice to Management

This is generic for every high tech company: Don't underestimate the negative effects of your decisions on people's lives. Coercion can backfire and reduce productivity. This is easily fixed with layoffs but given what it takes to get good talent you shouldn't intentionally drive the motivation out of the staff.
