Pros

Highly profitable company, good management

Cons

The semiconductor industry is highly competitive and has too many companies willing to accept low margins. Don't expect to make quick money off stock.

    Pros

Maxim focuses on products with good margins. That allows the company to invest in new technologies, compensate employees fairly, and survive economic downturns.

    Cons

The semiconductor industry is extremely competitive (actually overserved). IC Companies are constantly struggling to maintain profitability, which is why many of them are toast.

Things are getting better, but still lacking adequate staffing. I feel that Tunc is doing a good job.

Current Employee - Senior Member Technical Staff in Hillsboro, OR

    Pros

Interesting work with large number of customers. Great coworkers. Decent lab equipment.

    Cons

Understaffed, we are absolutely unable to adequately support our customers. Our competition will destroy us if they can provide better support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In understaffed areas you will see heavy attrition once the job market improves, and this will create avalanche effects before you are able to staff back up.

    Negative Outlook
