I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Decent pay.
Hard to get fired simply because you're incompetent.

    Cons

Bottom line comes first, patients second, and employees a distant third.
Was told "not to rock the boat" by several people within a week of moving to Rochester. The scary part is that some of them were not mayo employees but had heard enough to know what the culture of the institution was like. They weren't wrong. Incompetent cool aid drinkers are invariably preferred over those from "elsewhere" who bring uncomfortable new ideas and practice suggestions with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Demonstrate greater commitment to employees by supporting a healthier work life balance and morale will start to climb out of the basement. Hiring freezes during times of already low morale due to increased workload aren't helping management's image and will ultimately hurt the bottom line as more and more experienced staff continue to seek greener pastures.

I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

nice coworkers, nice clinical buidings, nice volunteers, nice equipments, many workshops. I like the skyways, which can lead to many places, including library, parking, etc.

    Cons

I don't think the compensation and benefit is good compared to others, at least in my case.
Work: isolated, without communications, no natural light. can't see career growth.
