Pros

Car allowance is great. B level employees get $550/month to use for lease of up to three vehicles. 'C' level employees get $650/month. Any money left over from the allowance is added to your paycheck. Great medical and dental benefits. Fitness benefit of $300 per year can be used to buy bicycles or for gym memberships. Very good looking cars.

Cons

Easy to plateau in your position and reach a career dead end. Absolutely NO diversity among senior management and executive team. Horrible food in the cafeteria. Very cliquish environment. If you're not in the "right" clique your career advancement opportunities are slim. The company refuses to support progressive fuel economy standards and deliver more fuel efficient vehicles.

Advice to Management

Don't pit employees against each other. Use employees respective talents to build well rounded teams. Forcing team members to compete creates unnecessary tension.

    Pros

    Exciting industry, small enough of a company to be exposed to multiple departments and projects. The employees are some of the best you will find anywhere.

    Cons

    Poor communication from upper management. Vision and direction is often lacking. Poor co-operation between divisions to the point that multiple groups can be working on similar projects at the same time and create conflicts.

    Pros

    Great brand with good products. Wonderful benefits package, including car benefits and vacation time. Management is very informative with company's performance.

    Cons

    Salaries are not competitive with other local companies within and outside of the same industry. Benefits only compensate for part of that difference. Very little is done by HR to encourage growth, you're pretty much on your own (including any outside networking, training, seminars, etc.. no budget).

    Advice to Management

    Do more to make employees proud to work for Mazda. Sometimes the cost cutting hurts morale and give employees the impression they're the next to go.
