I have been working at Mazda North American Operations full-time for more than a year

Pros

Great company with lots of potential. Take control of your future because no one at Mazda no anywhere else will. Learn the business and either get happy being bored or use it as a spring board for your future.

Cons

Everyone is out for themselves and with the exception of a rare few none of the management has an interest in development of their team members.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reset, refresh, restart.

    -HR department is more of a hinderance than a help
    -old building
    -not enough parking

    Pros

    Fun, friendly workplace with people that are passionate about the brand. Great benefits. Zoom Zoom spirit is real and exists there.

    Cons

    Layoffs and reorganizations every 2-3 years. HR functions to punish and hinder operations, not help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Mazda is not a Japanese version of BMW despite what Mazda Japan thinks. Since the US is where all the current profits are, focus efforts to help Mazda US, not force layoffs and buyouts.
