Former Employee - Crew Trainer in Fort Chiswell, VA

I worked at McDonald's full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Promoted to crew trainer in 11months. Guess this is good for a franchise. Mgrs. are nice. Most employees are easy to get along with.

Cons

Not enough employees to cover closing and overnight shifts. Some employees didn't want to do all jobs assigned to them. Having to deal with Greyhound customers. Most were polite. There were many that were not and being shorthanded it took a little longer to prepare items they ordered.

    Pros

If you work hard you'll be quickly promoted, took me 10 months to become manager at 18 years of age. Lots of opportunities, and health, dental and vision insurance. Great place to gain experience, handling money, managing people, and meeting targets.

    Cons

Lots of pressure, you have to be available 24/7, pay is low for all the responsibility. Also your some of your employees aren't professional, motivated, or too bright. Dealing with rude customers, and people trying to get free food.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise pay for managers in order to keep talent.
