I have been working at McGill University full-time for more than a year

Pros

Great academic environment
A lot of projects in which to be involved
Travel opportunities, generous funding for conferences, etc.

Cons

None, really -- downside to working in Quebec is that income taxes are substantial. Not sufficient for a one-income family. This is NOT the employer's fault, though.

I have been working at McGill University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    A true 9-5 job
Flexibility to earn additional degrees to move to a better employer

    Cons

    Poor opportunities for personal development
Lack of a true culture that defines the university
The work is at best designed for someone out of CEGEP
Most colleagues are lesser educated that you are (ie most of them are CEGEP grads)
