I have been working at McGraw-Hill Education full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

New management is willing to make serious change and is investing in the future

Cons

It takes a long time to change the old corporate culture in the middle and lower ranks. Distrust that change is really going to happen.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show employees that risk taking is worthwhile - even when it doesn't pay off! Better to take well placed risks and manage the process to success, than blithely punish failure.

I have been working at McGraw-Hill Education full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Work Life Balance- allow some employees to work "summer Hours"

    Cons

Management is often very confusing- changing their direction often- resulting in little to no direction. Re-organization is constantly occurring- so many live in fear of being let go. Compared to other companies marketing department the pay is very low and the promised bonuses do not happen. In career conversations that I have initiated with senior management there have been big promises with no follow through. In reality there are really no advancement opportunities. Overall, the business is not currently successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out your strategy and very clearly communicate that out. Create advancement opportunities and pay your people.
