I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great teams, accessible senior management. Looks like the new direction is working, hope they stay the course, if they do our customers will benefit.

Cons

Unrealistic sales and management goals, makes your pay lower. Reasonable healthcare, Employee reviews are poor quality, but they help keep the pay in check.

Advice to Management

Be real, keep your eyes and ears open, keep communication open. Every once in a while open the wallet for top employees by grade not Title. CEO makes way to much about 150 million last year, I would work about a week at that rate and retire.

I worked at McKesson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent pay Great opportunities to grow Work/Life balance highly regarded Community outreach very important to the company

    Cons

Low and mid level managers are usually chosen from project managers or sales pool. They were good salesmen and project managers but poor managers. Mckesson has the belief that you can make someone a good manager of people. Management has an almost royalty self worth.

    Advice to Management

Learn the difference between someone who is competent at their job and someone who is a good people manager. Leadership can be taught but not everyone can learn it.
