McKesson ... Enslaving Healthcare

Telemarketing Representative II (Former Employee)
Fort Worth, TX

Proswell established .. 180 years old
Fortune 14 .. over $1.2 billion in profits
largest player in healthcare oligopoly

ConsManagement favoritism is rampant. If not in favor, an employee is akin to the U.S. soldiers captured as Korean War POWs described in the book, "The Bucket List".
Older employees can forget about advancement.
Lots of employee development talk, very little employee development walk. Remindful of George Orwell's book "1984".
May be part of the healthcare problem, not part of the healthcare solution.

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement more transparency in career advancement through McKNet. Give everyone access to open positions. Throw away multiple job titles .. call a spade a spade.
Fire or retrain middle management that are examples of the Peter Principle and who have no regard for the older employees they manage.
Find the talents in your older employees and put them to use in running the company. Instill more dignity and respect throughout the organization.
Invest heavily in Connect to make it the most reliable and used ordering portal in the industry.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good company, but differs greatly based upon region and/or division.

Pros: Great company in all areas of healthcare. Cons: Management in the midwest micro-manages more than most other regions. Opportunity… Advice to Senior Management: Understand that each state/region present different opportunities. Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
