McKesson PPS/ now known as "Business Performance Solutions" is a sinking ship

I worked at McKesson full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked out of the Alpharetta office for McKesson Provider Technologies/PPS/BPS.
    -Good benefits
    -Pay was ok
-McKesson looks good on the resume

    Cons

-McKesson loves to lay off people, a lot of good people.
-Hardly any young people under 30 worked at my office, at one point there were only about 8-10 folks in there 20's working in the office of about 300-400 people. Recently before I left, 5 of those recent graduates/young people left
-McKesson does not do a good job of promoting career development and opportunities, which has led to a lot of excellent, recent graduates to leave to pursue other/better opportunities.
-Poor work ethic by many of the employees- they all seemed burnt out and were unfriendly. Only looked forward to 5pm

-Practice Choice EMR product has been a failure, as it was released about a year and a half too late and still does not have the features and functionality other EMR's on the market have.
-Of the 10 members on the internal support team for Practice Choice, 1/3 of them have either left or were let go
-Over the last 2 years (2011-2013), more people were leaving than being hired.
-The entire upper management for PPS/BPS left between 2011-2012 and GM had been relieved of duties
-McKesson PPS/BPS started failing once they began to rely on their VAR channel. All sales and support started being pushed to the VARs, which upset current customers and led to poor support and service which made customers chose other EMR's. Now the VARs are wanting to leave McKesson to sell other solutions.
-McKesson loves to micromanage- monitor number of phone calls, length of phone calls, # of activities every day. Some manager's also wanted to listen to one sales call per week, even though most reps were experienced and successful in sales. I do want to note the sales manager had no sales experience, they had only been a call center manager. Horrible hire for a sales manager position.
-You have to clock in and out throughout the day, every day, even for lunch, even if you are a full time, salaried employee.
-Employees began saying in 2011 that McKesson PPS/BPS was a sinking ship, and 2 years later the office is now half the size it originally was.
-Since this is such a small business unit of McKesson, the CEO does not care to improve it.
