I worked at McKinsey & Company

    Pros

It is a really nice place to work and everyone is nice and polite. Compensation is good. You can learn a lot.

    Cons

You have to work very hard and often deep into nights. Working pace is very fast and everyone works to meet the project deadline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps the management should increase the internship salaries and hire more interns when needed. It is already the best consulting firm in the world and it can do better.

I have been working at McKinsey & Company

    Pros

Unlimited opportunities to stretch yourself professionally. Also have the ability to make an impact (internally, at clients) like no other professional services firm.

    Cons

Work-life balance is a serious issue, especially as you get more senior. Travel is controllable depending on sector and office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Productivity enhancements (blackberry, air cards, etc.) are lessening natural mentorship that builds McKinsey. The partnership really must guard against that.
