    Pros

The people at McKinsey are incredibly bright and driven. The majority are even kind. The culture of giving and getting feedback is also fantastic for people who want to improve themselves. It's also profoundly challenging so you truly grow and learn quickly. Learning about multiple industries is also exciting.

    Cons

The late hours would be tough anywhere but when you are simply re-wording a powerpoint slide for the tenth time because the partners can't agree on what's best, you start to question your sanity. Add to that the frequent travel (Monday 6am flight out, Thursday 6pm flight home for months on end) and it can get tough.

    Advice to Management

Be careful about too many leaders on a given project. It typically doesn't generate too many new ideas and just creates burn for the teams.

Great learning experience for several years, work-life balance not sustainable in the long run

    Pros

Great exposure, very interesting work, super smart/talented people to work with. It's a great place to be as a young person because you get to learn a lot about how businesses work generally. McKinsey invests a lot in its people, and you will get the opportunity to grow as quickly as you as you are willing to put in the effort.

    Cons

Travel a lot, work long hours sometimes with little visibility, not sustainable from a long-term perspective for many people, some partners or managers are not great to work with. Your experience will be very team-specific, so if you're working with a great manager/partners, then your experience will be fantastic. Some partners/managers are notorious for having bad lifestyle or other management issues that will make the project very painful.
