    Pros

Your co-workers are among the most interesting and smart people you'll ever meet.

    Cons

Work-life balance is lip service. Management does not appreciate or praise top-performers enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Feedback only tends to go in the direction of what to improve. Focus equally on what people do well.

    Former Employee - Associate Principal

I worked at McKinsey & Company

    Pros

Breadth of experience functional as well as industry
    Senior managment exposure
    Smart collegues
    Good values (lately deteriorating)
    Structured thinking and communication
Outstanding and deeply connected alumni network, Mckinsey mafia is a reality
    Diverse knowledge on your fingertips

    Cons

    Extremely poor Lifestyle
No breakthrough thinking or stand the ground against opposition
Fee pressures = serving inept middle management
Not a place where you can raise a family and keep your marriage; even worse place for working women (although getting better)
Lack of good deep thinking, mostly superficial framework based thinking, most clients dont care for anything deeper anyway, so they get away with incompetence at times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Balance life, work and thinking
Be a true thought partner rather than a superficial one.
