I have been working at McLennan Community College part-time

    Pros

The faculty is excellent and are allowed a lot of anonymity is their classrooms. The administrators, chairs, deans, and board members are all excellent, devoted to the mission of the university and passionate about serving students and faculty. The facilities are wonderful and well maintained.

    Cons

Textbooks are mandated by course and change every two years. Adjunct classes are being cut across all divisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consult with all faculty before making textbook decisions or allow faculty to choose their own textbook.

Nice team to work with but they will keep adding to your plate without additional compensation.

I have been working at McLennan Community College full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Community-like environment, great wellness benefits, good health benefits, understanding supervisors, professional environment, many development training opportunities, spring break and christmas breaks

    Cons

Low salary for "unique" positions. Human Resource department is not the friendliest. If you are given more work they will mention job security and keep giving you more work.
