I have been working at McLeod Health

Pros

-4 wks PTO (that includes the holidays)
-drs office= easy hours

Cons

Not salaried. Hourly. Working full time as a single parent my child still qualifies for the free lunch program at his school.
Dr offices are remote and may not follow the 'corporate mantras'...

I have been working at McLeod Health full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I moved over 2000 miles to take advantage of the low cost of living, decent PTO and benefits afforded in this rural environment. I believed their garbage about the amazing health care that they provided.

    Cons

Gee. Where to start. Unprofessional and lazy doctors. Every single morning and afternoon clinic start 30 minutes to 2.5 hours late. Each and every week the two doctors that I work with call out for all or part of the day FOR- a variety of stupid issues: dental visits, pool maintenance, fatigue, over sleeping, rounds, supposed fevers. 2 days out of five each and every week, one of the two MDs are out.
    Lazy office manager.
Horrible scheduling! AS a NP, I was taught that 20-30 minute visits afford proper health care. MCLEOD allows me to decrease my schedule to double booked well and sick appointments every 15 minutes. Apparently, 7.5 minutes per well and sick visit is as good as I can get.
No office desk, no privacy, no phone, no respect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check out your clinics and stop looking at the profits. Ask yourself if the you would bring YOUR family member to this clinic.
Answer the emails that the NPs send you. Maybe then you won't be surprised when they "suddenly resign".
