Right place to work if you "know" people or in that circle

  • Comp & Benefits
  • Work/Life Balance
  • Senior Management

I have been working at MedAssets full-time

Pros

Flexible work schedule, paid week to do charity work of your choice, depending on who likes you, salaries are ok

Cons

Benefits completely suck for a Healthcare company, Upper management is treated differently than rest of employees, employees who do nothing get rewarded while employees busting their butts gets little to no recognition if they aren't in "the circle" - HORRID office politics, hearsay about you goes versus what actually happens at work - like going back to high school - good luck getting any information you need from anyone, nobody cares what gets done and forwards your request to someone else who doesn't care and so the story continues, think 5 times before accepting a job here

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-evaluate your directives, GPO pricing sucks compared to other GPO's. People who don't deserve a job tend to be the ones who keep them while people trying to change things for the better are disciplined for not doing things like they have always been done, even when it's a better procedure and saves everyone involved - IT department and help line are horrific, you have no idea what change management actually is, only a perception that isn't even close

    I worked at MedAssets

    Pros

There are some really great people who work there.
They do like to party which is a good stress reliever to a chaotic work place.

    Cons

    Product problems galore
Sr Executive Team is almost full of non-leaders and former sales execs who are just chasing their own tails.
If you dont like the org structure just give it 3 months and youll have another one to adjust to
If youre going into the revenue cycle segment, forget about getting any senior level support. They mill around the supply chain offices where there are much less complex problems to solve. Youll never see a senior leader or chief executive in the rev cycle office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CEO needs to till his own garden before indicting other pople like Lance Armstrong. Your customers are paying the price for a complete lack of effective leadership within the highest ranks of Medassets. Our military walks the walks; the CEOs cage fighters walk the walk; olympians walk the walk; and even Lance Armstrong walks the walk. My advice to Sr execs are to stop talking the talk, and start walking the walk for the sake of there hard working paying customers who are not getting what they deserve.
