I have been working at MedAssets full-time for more than a year

Pros

Ability to drive your own career, hard work is noticed and rewarded, ability for advancement, dynamic industry, C-suite involved in day to day and visible to all levels

Cons

Slow to adapt to change in the industry and growth within the company, incomplete senior leadership team, in-fighting on the leadership team and lack of clear set of rules/principles or mission, tendency to cut jobs to increase margins in the short term rather than identify a long term solution that may result in a dip in profits in the short term

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on hiring a strong leadership team and invest in talent rather than using employees to cut expenses and boost short term profits

I have been working at MedAssets full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great industry. excellent business ideas. Lack of ability to execute.

    Cons

How many Re-Orgs can a company do?? Just when you start to learn your newest position, it is time for the company to fire key players or Re-Organize.... Again. If person after person keps failing in a specific position, it is no longer about the person, it is about unrealistic expectations, or an inability to coach and manage your team. If you do work here.... Lay low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to mentor people into their roles, learn how to support them at becoming better at their jobs. Set clear realistic expectations and REWARD excellent employees so they stay. Quit firing anyone who challenges the leaders to be better.

I worked at MedAssets full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Excellent Industry, great business model

    Cons

C Level leaders are incapable of trusting employees at any level to manage their jobs. They re-organize, just about the time people get a handle on their job. Quote from a Senior VP. If you don't like the new Re-organization, wait six months. Lack of concern for customers, they care more about making the books look good for investors then taking care of clients. Therefore they are loosing many clients to other companies. By acquiring new companies, they hide the loss of their previous revenue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simplify processes for cost effectiveness, and allow people to keep the same job long enough to grow and gain knowledge before changing the policies and reorganizing once again.
