I worked at MedImmune as an intern

Pros

It was a very exciting and well planned intern program, got to meet students from all over US, the pay was very good, intern events were fun to attend and the raffle prizes were amazing :)

Cons

I was hoping that the internship would extend to a permanent position.

I worked at MedImmune full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The salaries are comparable to the rest of the Washington D.C metro area. If you are in with the right people, there are opportunities for advancement. Some of the people were great to work with.

    Cons

There are 2 sites. Manufacturing in Frederick and Headquarters in Gaithersburg. The culture difference between the sites are like night and day. The manufacturing site employees are treated as second class citizens. There is very high turnover along with reinvention of the wheel syndrome. Low morale and a fear of losing jobs. Work/Life balance is NON existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Occasionally come down from the ivory tower and take a look around. There are minor adjustments that would increase morale. Balance resources better.
