I have been working at MediaTek as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Only good reason is its located in SINGAPORE. There are not many VLSI Design companies in Singapore and this seems to the only option, if you want to be in Singapore.

    Cons

    1) Pathetic work culture,
    2) No work-life balance - you have hectic work all through the year.
    3) Since they are making all low-end, low-cost chips, the design flows are not robust. Its a cheap Chinese product company !!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve the manager-employee communication
    Have a strong design flow

I have been working at MediaTek as an intern

    Pros

As an intern, you get access to first hand experience on the new system they're designing internally. You get a chance to work with the best guy in the fields. You will have meetings with people from many countries, debating latest techniques.

    Cons

It's all good for an intern, but as a full-time employee, the work hours is a bit too long. There is some big company stuff going on here, like a large number of conferences, overtime work / conferences.
