I worked at Medtronic as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The work environment is pretty flexible as far as being able to stop and chat with your fellow workers, and the benefits are very good for todays marketplace

    Cons

Nothing ever gets accomplished because there are waaaaaay too many meetings. You can never find anyone when you need them because of it. Training is constant, but not very user friendly. Also, there are just too many managers, and only a handful of people that actually work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you really want to save the company money stop worrying about outsourcing, which won't really save much, and start looking at salaries of all your managers and directors.
