Medtronic has great name recognition and excellent for meeting others in the industry.
Very smart, hard working people, especially at corporate level.
Multifacted- so many therapies to better serve patients

The company pays competitive base salaries compared to its peers. It is one of the best companies to be associated with given strong patient focus, exciting new technologies, and great financial operating performance.

Cons

Over extended - it appears that the company is focusing on so many things that it's lost the core values that ties all its businesses together

Also, some of our colleagues are not as motivated in their current roles - either they are underpaid, underappreciated for their efforts, or perhaps the wrong fit, but the business units are empty by 5pm. The company doesn't reward it's hardest working employees, giving no incentive to lead by example.

Advice to Senior Management

Include more variable pay based on performance. Experienced professionals valuing work/life balance should be rewarded for their valuable contributions, but ambitious young hard working employees should also be incentivized to remain with the company so both parties can lead to fresh, innovative ideas capable of execution.
