    Pros

As they hire grads, this fills your resume while you find something else.
Opportunity to earn some cash in short term.
You will learn telesales in a high pressure environment!
As pressure is so high it is a great chance to learn stress management techniques.
Potential to bond with collegues who are in a similar position.

    Cons

The products are slowly being replaced by free tools online.
Management is simply another young person who met some sales targets.
    Toxic atmosphere and intolerable egos.
    Extreme micro-management
The only thing you are responsible for, at any level, is selling more - monotonous and stressful.
Selling style is transactional with no respect for lasting client relationships.
Lots of politics and odd office rituals.
    Vacation time is frowned upon.

    Advice to Management

Stop the pretence that people who have sold automatically have the foundations of a successful manager. Sales and management are not related.

Consider giving people a pay rise rather than a new title. I know you hire people who are led to beleive that they have management opportunities but it is unwise to promote someone because they sold a couple of contracts. The turnover rate speaks for itself!

    Pros

Basically everyone at Meltwater starts out in sales, so if you're not keen on this then this is probably not the company for you.

The job requires a lot of stamina, but if you're happy to persevere then there's a lot to learn and the company will throw a lot of opportunities (promotion, travel, responsibility) your way.

    Cons

You can keep good work-life balance at Meltwater, but you have to work at it because it's easy to slip into the habit of spending a lot of time with your colleagues, at the expense of other stuff.

    Advice to Management

Some middle managers have been promoted too quickly, and lack the maturity and professionalism that you would expect. This will only become more important as the company grows.
