I have been working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time

    Pros

-People value and support the mission wholeheartedly
-There is incredible research being done by some of the best in their field
-Pockets of incredibly dedicated managers that will stick up for their staff
    -Amazing name brand recognition

    Cons

-Get ready to play politics because you if you work in "Corporate" you are generally not promoted based on merit or skill, but by how well you play the game
-People will be conducting the same type of work but one will be paid less
-Fragmented culture; depending on what division, area and who you work for, your work environment will vary
-If you are an exempt-level employee, you can expect at least 50 hours/week as the norm; people routinely work 12+hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of the "Corporate" managers need to go. I have seen many dedicated, bright and driven employees burn out or get driven out due to politics. The entire culture needs to change and that starts with the top down.
