Men's Wearhouse – “Indentured servitude disguised by a shirt and tie.”
Pros
Knowledge about the industry is top-notch, good discounts (40%) on all items in the store, remote possibility of moving upward in the organization. Training can be very comprehensive once you are promoted to a full sales position but once they're established, cross-training them to do all the jobs in the store does not exist.
Cons
Same compensation as someone who works fast food but more responsibility on having to sell for the organization so that the commissioned people make more money, the upline managers make more money, and the shareholders make more money. Required to work with unstable brides who want everything to be perfect for their wedding, yet aren't willing to spend money on purchasing the required clothing for the groom's party.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat the people who are the true workforce of your organization with more respect and compensation in recognition of their abilities and opportunities pursuable elsewhere.
