Pros

Didn't Micro Manage
Freedom to handle problems with customers on a store level
Great selection of men's clothing

Cons

Compensation
Tuxedo Rental time was too busy to try to sell while you had 200 tuxedo rental pick ups for prom
Opportunities to advance
When I left (right before they "let George go") corporate started getting away from treating all employees on a personal basis

Advice to Management

The only way you can advance into a store management role is to wait until one retires, move to a "problem store", or keep moving around. Left because there wasn't any more opportunities for me.

    Pros

    Empowerment to make sure customers like the 'way they look'. Having fun is stressed. Pay is very good with good benefits, 55% employee discount!

    Cons

    Erosion of company culture with George leaving has led to a lot less 'fun'! Company is shedding payroll with pressure of the J.Bank merger looming.

    Advice to Management

    The loss of the special culture of TMW will threaten the future of the company. Tends to be a new regime vs 'old' regime which is dividing employees against each other and fearful for their jobs. Mgt needs to support the stores by stressing fun,service and to continue to be simple of making sure the customer 'likes the way they look'.

    Pros

    Most customers were pleasant. Tailors are the best people in the building and very under appreciated. Good quality merchandise and customer service model.

    Cons

    The compensation could be better for the amount of work you do. Training is average at best. They could cut back the Xmas parties and pay the CSA staff better. Wedding season and prom season is very hectic even more so than the holiday season. Heading downhill after George was cut away. Regional management is very poor.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to those if us in the trenches, you guys have no clue what the reality is.
