I worked at Men's Wearhouse full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Constant chance of promotion to a point. Leadership in my region was good at a Regional level.

Cons

Work vs. home balance could be difficult as with most retailers.
Promotions dry up quickly unless moving to a larger market.

I worked at Men's Wearhouse full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Didn't Micro Manage
Freedom to handle problems with customers on a store level
    Great selection of men's clothing

    Cons

    Compensation
Tuxedo Rental time was too busy to try to sell while you had 200 tuxedo rental pick ups for prom
    Opportunities to advance
When I left (right before they "let George go") corporate started getting away from treating all employees on a personal basis

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only way you can advance into a store management role is to wait until one retires, move to a "problem store", or keep moving around. Left because there wasn't any more opportunities for me.

I have been working at Men's Wearhouse full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Family atmosphere with more flexibility than most retail.

    Cons

There are no real incentives/bonuses for tailors as there are for front-of-store staff. Tailors do receive bonus when the store meets its goals but there is nothing for a well-run tailor shop with top numbers. The tailors often excel even in months when the store misses goal and there is no reward for this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers could pay more attention to employee complaints/suggestions.
