I worked at Menards full-time for more than a year

Pros

It is a job. If you buy in, there are opportunities for advancement.

Cons

High turnover and poorly paid team members. Lazy or ill-equipped supervisors. Non-union.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Drop the requirement of an undergrad degree to become a manager. There were plenty of capable people working there but have no chance of career advancement for lack of a degree.

I have been working at Menards part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Spifs on paychecks, 15% Pizza Ranch Card, extra $2.50 on weekends.

    Cons

Rude managers, wanna be managers, people who are pets of managers who don't think they have to work, lazy managers, not enough staff to help out or if there is some of them don't wanna help. No chance for advancement unless you are buddies with the higher ups or relatives. Cut hours not enough hours in work week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advance people who actually show up and don't call in and quit hiring more people off the street if you are not making payroll as you call it.

I have been working at Menards full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many overtime hours if requested. A $2.50 per hour differential on Sat. and Sun. for every employee.

    Cons

Training program is rushed. Sink or swim.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should be a bigger variance between Management and part-time. There is only a $2.00 hourly difference between part-time and asst. management.
