Pros

Menard's treats you fairly and give you the opportunity to get more hours if you want them. They send you gifts for every single holiday. I enjoyed my time there.

Cons

The anti fatigue mats are not appropriate for the amount of standing when you work as a cashier. The cash drawer is entirely too low for working with a correct posture when standing for long periods. The breaks are not long enough to use the facilities and eat your snack, especially if you have medical issues.

Advice to Management

Please see that more efficient anti fatigue mats are utilized in the work place, especially at the cashier area. Moving the cash drawer up higher would be a great help.

    Pros

Lots of hours translated to good total income and profit sharing. Some really great people worked here, most were gone within a year.

    Cons

Really hard work, often lifting heavy 75lb+ up or down onto mega rack, demanding management, harsh and negative management styles, long hours both early morning and late nights. Really poor program of having people often close and then open the next day.

    Advice to Management

transition into the modern world by teaching respect, goal setting and positive feedback

    Pros

Detail training, hands on experience, and working with some alright people, due to high turnover rates positions/promotions are always opening up ( don't know if that's a pro or con)

    Cons

starting pay for a manger trainee with a college degree - 11 dollars an hour. Managers are totally taken advantage of by the company - most manager work close to 3,000 hours a year and makes less then $50,000. No work/life balance - your life is Menards!

    Advice to Management

Want to keep managers increase compensation!! Advice to employees - band together form a union to demand better wages, benefits, and work/life balance!!
