I worked at Mercer full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Defined benefit pension plan which is increasingly rare
    Some extended Benefits
My managers were knowledgeable, reasonable, and supportive
Fair pay for administrators according to one I spoke with.
Some opportunities for movement within the company

    Cons

No time for vacations in some departments as slow to hire
My department was unwilling to help grow careers but thought keeping people in the existing role was to the department's advantage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure everyone can take at least one week off several times a year (2?), without coming back to 3 weeks of work. If unable to fill vacancies at senior roles, hire a more junior person and keep looking for the senior person. If you must, make the junior role a temporary one. Keep great employees by giving them a career path at Mercer
