Advice to ManagementAdvice

I hope that they select a model and stick with it for a while. I hope that they encourage taking risks and not ask people to follow in line without discussion.

I worked at Merck as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly environment with other associates and middle management.

Flexible scheduling and ability to work from home twice per week.

    Cons

No upward mobility for FTEs. No upward mobility for RPS employees on-site (also a poor company to work for).

Senior management was clueless at best, and counterproductive at worst. There was zero interest in developing employees, improving the group or processes, improving relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Senior management's understanding of our role in the business was shockingly poor whenever they interacted with us.

Recently, the company announced massive layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn what the business unit does and invest time and/or resources into improvement when needed.
