I have been working at Merck

Pros

Location across the bridge from Manhattan. The pay is very good however. The company was recently purchased by Merck. It maybe a risky time.

Cons

Very expensive housing, I found my 2-br apartment for $2000/month. The company was recently purchased by Merck. It maybe a risky time.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

this is not my area of expertise. I am not sure. The company was recently purchased by Merck. It maybe a risky time.

I have been working at Merck

    Pros

Benefits; progressive in functional areas; provides many training opportunities; good reputation in marketplace; management delegates responsibility; flexibility on work locations between various sites/offices

    Cons

White males in their forties will face high risk of feeling a sense of reverse discrimination; company is very careful in their organization design to minimize promotional opportunities; early stage pipeline is not very strong

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be careful not to demotivate experienced employees; there is still a gap between the company's desire for a "speak up" environment and leadership behavior that will motivate a willingness to speak up
