Pros

They pay a decent starting salary, they will sponsor you to get your licenses, wholesalers occasionally bring food during breakfasts and lunches. after getting licensed there other firms will hire you pretty easily

Cons

where to start? the trainee program is almost a 100% failure rate. the goals are impossible to hit. some of the senior advisors wont even talk to you or say good morning. terrible culture in the downtown office. one trainer told us to make a list of every person you have ever met then call them. yeah ok. managers expected you to "cold walk" literally walk into a business dressed in a suit in the heat of florida handing out business cards. redic.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire trainees to be on a team or dont hire them because they wont succeed

    Pros

My internship at Merrill Lynch made me more connections than I could imagine. I had more job offers than any of my friends at graduation. Months before I was graduating I had multiple employers competing to have me join their company.

    Cons

The advisor I worked for was not very involved during my internship. I got to know lots of people in the office, but never really spoke with him. Just got my tasks for the day and went our seperate ways.
