I worked at Merry Maids

Pros

The pay was pretty good but the company made out much better than the employees.

Cons

there was too much over-time and the supervisor (who was responsible for checking my work) had never even worked as a maid. I felt like a peasant.

My experience at Merry Maids was not very positive, but I knew that the job was just a stepping stone.

    Pros

The work is easy and stress-free
    Not micro-managed
Have to the potential to make great tips if you have regulars who request you personally
The work keeps you in shape

    Cons

    The pay is very low
There is no room for growth
Partners may not perform their duties leaving you to pick up his or her slack

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I feel that the pay is too low to attract quality employees. Perhaps the company could offer merit raises and bonuses to those who have a proven track record of excellence.

I worked at Merry Maids full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

lovely co-workers, not being stuck in an office

    Cons

I only worked for Merry Maids for a week before I caught on that everything I was told when I was hired was misrepresented at best. I was willing to put in the hours, deal w/ the commute and put my life on the back burner based on what I was promised, but I discovered that the pay was very little and that in order to even make minimum wage, I'd be expected to work at a very unrealistic pace and cut corners for 10-12 hours a day. I just received my 1st check and it is wrong. I imagine they won't ever fix it. I spent more in gas than I made during that one week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't LIE to potential employees to convince them to work for you. People need jobs, not empty promises.
