It's public education in a nutshell; failing, underfunded, and under-appreciated

    Pros

If your job still exists in down the road, there are retirement benefits and it's steady work.

    Cons

There always shaving corners. Asking more and giving less. Their expectations of quality with what you're given to work with are not reasonable nor rational. In the end, your superiors are always on your heels to perform. When you raise objections about how you're not able to with what you're given, then you become a target and unsatisfactory employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When everybody is under the gun, perhaps a little compassion and understanding that it's a nearly impossible situation would at least show you have compassion for your fellow human being, not to mention your employees.

For over ten years I was a teacher in over three schools in this district and my experiences were generally good.

    Pros

As a teacher, I felt my superiors were concerned about me and the students.

    Cons

Because the district is so big, workers there tend to be overloaded and overworked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue looking out for the best interests of the teachers and their students.
