Good place to work if you are a producer; questionable if you are support staff -- HR, IT, Marketing.

    Pros

    Respected name in business
    Mid-size, private company
HIGHLY encourage community and philanthropic involvement

    Cons

    Benefits
Since unfortunate death of former CEO 2 years ago, firm is being managed by an executive committee
Since the firm is private and has many long time employees, many areas do not function as efficiently as they could; Need to spend more money on technology

    Pros

Strong supporter of charities and local business development.

    Cons

Fragmented business structure, which only Jim was able to effectively manage. Current leadership team is lost without him. Selling the company maybe it's best long-term strategy. Privately owned by highly compensated executives, which creates benefits as well as conflicts of interest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fund of funds are likely a thing of the past and bankruptcy consulting was never a fit for an asset manager. Decide what differentiates the company amongst its competitors, focus on that alone.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
