I have been working at MetLife full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Working at MetLife as an Financial Services Representative can be a very rewarding experience for the right person. In addition to the ability to make a very nice income, the knowledge that making a indelible mark upon the future of others is priceless.

Cons

As with any Financial Services Company, it is a highly regulated environment so there is much to learn and a career such as this isn't for everyone. It requires high energy, an open mind, high discipline and a committment to excellence.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is always important to be as people focused as possible. Profit doesn't drive your people, people drive your profit.

    Pros

    Nice office, great support system

    Cons

    Compensation is paid out too slowly...commissions go into a pool and you are paid out 10-20% a week...takes too long to get paid on business. Changing management for the worse.

    I have been working at MetLife full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    I work with many good people at MetLife and they provide pretty competitive salaries to their employees. They also care about educating their employees and providing good solid training for associates.

    Cons

    In the department that I work in senior management is not very engaged with the associates that work beneath them. The company is very budget concious at the expense of the satisfaction and over morale of their associates

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Ask your people if they like their jobs. Be more interested in whether they are happy.
