I worked at MetLife full-time

Pros

Large company engaged in various insurance products and services. Established and a leader in its industry. Opportunity galore.

Cons

Because of its many acquisitions ... some aspects of its business as a result may still be experiencing mending pains ... may take time for someone to adapt to such a large organization ... may require extra effort to navigate through to find answers to critical questions that may be needed to get one's job done.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use judgement --- don't rest until your better is best ... and your best is your least.. don't just rely on set procedures. Investigate to a personal or detailed level. Keep in mind --- the bottom line. Don't be afraid to ask twice.

I worked at MetLife full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Unlimited income potential and a great company

    Cons

The mentorship program shouldn't be limited to one mentor but a structured rotation with a reward system build in to give the mentors who participate incentives to continue to want to help. This will give the rookie more sale style choices to find the right fit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should create a video library recreating different mock customer/advisor presentations for example: general fact finding, life insurance, retirement planning etc. showing the sales cycle of building rapport, fact finding, trial close, overcoming objections and final close
