Former Employee - Assistant Vice President in Bridgewater, NJ

I worked at MetLife

Pros

The incentive pay (bonus) program was a great motivation to work hard and deliver on time/on budget.
A lot of opportunity for professional growth through training programs.

Cons

If job advancement or job title is important to you, then this is not the place for you. You can advance quickly to level 30 (job titles such as: project manager, senior consultant) then stay at that level for the rest of your career. If you do not come into the company as an officer, it is very rare that to be promote to director, AVP or VP.
IT jobs are 24/7 and you can expect to work many weekends throughout the year.

Former Employee - Disability Representatives in Warwick, RI

    I worked at MetLife

    Pros

    -Holiday cubicle/team competitions
-causal environment, too casual - yes answering phones, but people literally came in with stuff I wouldnt even wear to bed.
    -good benefits

    Cons

-high turnover, its all about calls calls calls
-stuck in cubicle for 8 hours a day, your timed when you go to the bathroom or if you get up to do something since you have to log out of the system
-better learn to type fast and in MET code.
-every call is recorded and can be pulled and you get graded on 5 calls and then they review with you, I actually got a review saying that I was too nice in a call? that was a first...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing really... its more of an individual view... if you like callcenters than this a perfect setting for you.
