I have been working at Miami Children's Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Job satisfaction knowing we are helping children and their families.
Good work/life balance. Opportunity for growth. Great benefits.

    Cons

Pay may not be compatible with other area health care organizations. In the last few years there has been a reduction in employee morale. More work load given to employees and departments do not seem adequately staffed. With all of that said it seems there has been an increase in number of higher management positions lately which looks badly to the employees we are asking to be conscience of budget to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More company activities to boost morale. Quarterly bonuses. Incentives for employees to go above their expected job description. More recognition for employees in form of picnics, luncheons, etc. I think the pay should also be taken a look at and compared to area hospital and other national children's hospitals since we are specialized. When opening new centers take into consideration the need for additional support staff.
