I have been working at Miami Dade Public Schools full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Stable working environment for the most part in administrative offices.

Cons

No room for growth, either professionally or incentive-wise. From 2008-2013, salaries have been going backwards. No COLA increase, no performance increase, bonuses do not exist here; on the contrary, all about cuts and furloughs due to "budget cuts".

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should seriously consider incentives to retain local talent and attempt to keep employees happy. Very low morale.

I have been working at Miami Dade Public Schools full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

It is rewarding to be able to work with and influence todays youth. I love teaching children and being able to instruct them and infulence them in posotive ways.

    Cons

Little parent involvement. There is a prevalent problem with todays parents and their commitment level towards the educational system in place. Their alliances are simply for themselves and thus they take authourity away from teachers in general.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let teachers teach. Stop micromanaging them.
