    Good hours..flexible schedule for employees to work around. Overall nice people. tHE PAY IS ALSO not so bad is your looking for a basic job

    Cons

    Fast paced environment during season..be ready to work HARD. Lunch breaks are not always given however so make sure you know when to take off

    hire better mangement staff and hiring staff who properly know how to manage a store during the seasonal months without customers getting upset

    Pros

    For the craft enthusiast and people person, cashiering at Michaels is enjoyable as a part-time extra money job. Employees receive a 25% discount on regular price items with multiple opportunities throughout the year to save up to 50% as exployee appreciation. Management is very good about working with employees' schedules.

    Cons

    Pay and raises should definitely be better in order to reward/keep experienced cashiers. Job feedback is non-existent unless an error is made. Raises are based on customer survey results, a disincentive to excellent employees who are ranked lower due to results in areas they have no control over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Experienced cashiers are worth more than minimum wage and it would be nice to receive positive feedback regarding job performance in addition to ways to improve.
