Pros

-Great coworkers, a sense of family in that everyone has to deal with the same things.
-You learn a lot here, both from the company, the work itself, and your coworkers.

Cons

-Complete disarray in management, and 'passing the buck' runs rampant.
-Understaffing at crucial times.
-Management doesn't understand scheduling.
-Lack of promotion.
-Lack of communication between departments, sometimes leading to people performing duties either under their pay grade or that they're unqualified for.

Advice to Management

Practice what you preach. You give the company line to your workers so often I think you've forgotten what it's supposed to mean. You expect us to follow the company culture, how about leading by example?

    Pros

    Higher pay than similar stores.
Decent benefits even for part time workers including paid vacation time.
    Employee discount.

    Cons

    Some policies are overly complicated.
Almost every employee has many more responsibilities than at similar workplaces. Some are stretched much too thin.

  2. Very limited advancement opportunity, great associates, but varied management (from stellar to horrible).

    Pros

The associates (non management) are generally very good people to work with. Teamwork among associates is frequent and one of the companies strengths. Being able to share your employee pricing with friends and family a few times a year is a nice gesture.

    Cons

The scheduling of a salaried managers time is extremely lopsided in the companies favor. Corporate involvement is rarely positive. At the store level there are sometimes departmental walls between the retail, service, and operations teams that prevent them from working together effectively.

    Advice to Management

The best advice that can be given is simple: Care for your associates. They are your greatest strength. Listen to your associate surveys and don't be afraid to A C T upon them.
