Overall, not a bad company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Vienna, VA

ProsWork schedules and locations can be flexible.
Coworkers are very helpful - if the person you asked doesn't know the answer, s/he will often help you find someone that does know the answer. Initial product training gives good exposure to the product.

ConsCompany doesn't promote new positions to employees first. The way to know if positions are coming open is to monitor LinkedIn.
Cross country travel isn't factored into work schedules.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive existing employees a chance to move up / around. Factor crazy travel times into expected billing.

Good place to jump-start your career

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Tysons Corner, VA

I have been working at MicroStrategy full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: Casual, young and flexible environment. The location is ideal and the opportunity to learn and jump-start your career is there. The building itself is new… Cons: Salaries and vertical movement definitely has a limit. Moving up isn't easy and, in certain areas, doesn't seem to have an existing pathway at all.… Advice to Senior Management: Listen to the needs of your subordinates and help them reach their goals. Make sure to provide them a clear path for upward movement should… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
